The Online Auction for the insolvency of Douromel – Fábrica de Confeitaria Lda (4705/17.9T8VIS) is accepting bids until November 15, 2024, here.
The Complete Industrial Unit for sale includes a warehouse and a construction lot located in the Aveiras Industrial Zone, in Tabuaço, as well as movable assets supporting the food industry. These assets are valued at a total of €444,100.00 (Estimate Sale Value).
With a total area of 8,851.00 m² and a covered area of 2,800.00 m², the industrial warehouse is spread over three floors. Meanwhile, the construction lot has a total area of 764.00 m². Both properties of Douromel can be acquired together for €410,000.00 (Estimate Sale Value).
These properties benefit from exemptions on Municipal Property Transfer Tax (IMT) and Stamp Duty, under Article 270, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Code (CIRE).
Regarding the movable assets, the machinery and equipment for the food industry are offered as a single lot, valued at €34,100.00 (Estimate Sale Value). The equipment includes:
Machines for strapping boxes, heat sealing, spraying, capping, mincing figs, closing jars, pneumatic pumpkin cutting, fruit washing, plastic sealing, vegetable washing, shredding, and slicing;
Equipment: a stainless steel tank with a capacity of approximately 10,000 liters and a pump, 22 fiber salting tanks, a stainless steel condensate tank with a capacity of approximately 8,000 liters, a boiler with a capacity of 18,000 liters and 4,000 kg/h, a spray pump, among others.
Additionally, four passenger and commercial light vehicles from brands Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan, and Renault will be auctioned exclusively lot by lot.
About Douromel
Founded in 1991, Douromel was a company based in the municipality of Tabuaço specializing in candied or crystallized fruits, industrial jams, and confectionery products. In 2011, crystallized fruits accounted for 80% of this Tabuaço-based factory's turnover, producing more than 1,000 tons of candied fruits annually.
In 2012, in collaboration with the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), the company introduced a "healthy" Bolo Rei (King Cake) made with sugar-free crystallized fruit, using alternative, lower-calorie sweeteners, and incorporating dietary fibers. From this initiative, Douromel developed a gourmet method for sugar-free candied chestnuts called "Marron Glacé Light," intending to produce and export Marron Glacé in a light version from start to finish.
The sale of the business establishment offers an investment opportunity, allowing the investor to continue the company’s activity.
