The gala of the 1st edition of the National Architecture Awards “Space” 2023, organized by the Revista Anteprojetos took place on December 18th at the House of Architecture in Matosinhos. The works developed on national territory were distinguished in seven categories: emerging youth, public space, collective equipment, community housing, single-family accommodation, architectural rehabilitation and hospitality.
In the category Hotel, the award winner was the hotel Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness.
With unparalleled characteristics, the “LAVANDEIRA DOURO NATURE & WELLNESS” is one of the biggest powers of Rural and Ecological Tourism, where we can find history in every corner, in every walk. The 4-star Hotel, which currently has 22 accommodations, seeks to keep alive in each of them the concept of the natural landscape of the lands of Baião and the history that preserves every corner of the property.
The “LAVANDEIRA DOURO NATURE & WELLNESS” keeps buildings of more than 40 years of construction right in the southern part of the property where the main entrance is also located.
In the center of the Hotel, we find the main building consisting of the reception area and the “Elmo”, decorated with the combination of elements that convey the history of Portugal and the customs of the people, very well harmonized with elements of charm and elegance in its most natural presentation.
